Rob Dillingham receiving coaching from John Wall to become an NBA point guard
This former standout from Kentucky is teaching Dillingham.
Rob Dillingham, a former standout player for the Kentucky Wildcats, is being mentored by John Wall as he starts his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The San Antonio Spurs, who also selected UConn guard Stephon Castle with the fourth overall choice, technically drafted Dillingham. After that, the Spurs traded Dillingham to the Wolves, where he will get an opportunity to play with Anthony Edwards.
Dillingham talked with a player who underwent a similar adjustment, so what is expected of him and what he excels at might not be precisely the same.
Wall was a score-first point guard for Kentucky before developing into one of the NBA’s top point guards overall with the Washington Wizards. How was that accomplished?
He informed Dillingham that his success would primarily depend on how he makes things for people who are unable to.
He added that he had advised Dillingham that his transition would be his chance to shine while at the Las Vegas Summer League.
Wall was an NBA superstar for a few seasons and a five-time All-Star guard until injuries ended his career. With a career high of 23.1 points per game, he enjoyed a prosperous career.
