The Team USA Basketball rosters have garnered a lot of attention in recent weeks as they begin their tune-up games for their pool matches; nevertheless, Team USA as a whole still has a strong possibility of winning the most medals when the games conclude on August 11.
The Track & Field teams’ results will be a major factor in that.
With seven athletes from the Kentucky Wildcats traveling to Paris to represent the USA, the team is once again well-represented as the rosters have been finalized following the Olympic trials a few weeks ago.
Which of those names is the biggest? Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is an international track superstar.
McLaughlin-Levrone, who competed for the United Kingdom Track & Field team in the 2018 season, is regarded as the world’s finest 400-meter hurdler, and her performance at the Olympic Trials in Oregon this past month reinforced that belief.
In what way? With a timing of 50.65 in the last race of the competition, she broke the world record for fastest time. It was even more amazing that she broke the record she was holding.
