The Phillies appear to be getting closer to making the ideal bullpen move.
The desperate need for bullpen arms among the Philadelphia Phillies has only grown more apparent.
In the upcoming days, the Philadelphia Phillies will desperately need to add relievers. The two most important and urgent needs for the team would be an outfielder and a reliever.
The Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles reached an agreement early on Friday afternoon on a trade that would satisfy their outfield requirement. Reliever Seranthony Dominguez and outfielder Cristian Pache were traded to the Phillies in exchange for outfielder Austin Hays from the Orioles.

The right-handed outfielder that Philadelphia had been chasing has joined the team. For the season, Hays is slashing.255/.316/.395. Hays was an All-Star the previous season, but the Orioles could afford to make this trade because of the depth of their position players.
However, the Phillies already need relievers, and with Dominguez out of the pen after throwing 36 innings for them this season, they now need one. With the outfield hole filled, the necessity for a bullpen has become even more urgent.
