Numerous Teams Expressing Interest According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, right-hander Luis Garcia of the Angels is attracting a lot of trade interest. The Red Sox, Yankees, and Royals are among the teams Heyman mentions as being interested.
With twelve MLB seasons under his belt, 37-year-old Garcia has been a reliable middle relief arm for many years. Over the previous five years, Garcia has been traded to the Angels, Rangers, Cardinals, Padres, and Rangers in the major leagues, after starting his career with the Phillies and pitching to a league average (99 ERA+). Garcia has a 3.94 ERA (107 ERA+) and a 4.00 FIP since the beginning of the season, with an ERA+ that has been higher than average in each of the previous five 162-game seasons. of the 2019 season, despite the fact that he has only amassed nine saves over that span because teams have typically used him in the middle innings.
In his second season with the Angels, the veteran righty has had a terrific season with even better peripherals (3.68 FIP, 3.44 SIERA) and a 3.80 ERA. The Angels, for their part, dispelled any uncertainty about their readiness to deal rental players earlier today by sending closer Carlos Estevez to Philadelphia.
