Four unrestricted free agents who the 76ers should not sign
It is imperative that the 76ers explore elsewhere for these four names.
There are currently just two spaces left on the Philadelphia 76ers’ regular roster after they signed Reggie Jackson. Even though free agency is officially over and the front office can only pay veteran minimum acquisitions, there are still some choices to consider if they want to know more about their starting lineup going into training camp.
Daryl Morey and his team still have the freedom to take an innovative strategy when dealing with ring-chasers or young cogs trying to find a new home. That being said, there are some fruits that should remain unpicked for a reason. Here are four free agents that they should steer clear of at all costs.
4. The 76ers won’t require Evan Fournier.
Notwithstanding the team’s numerous well-received free-agent acquisitions, nobody will regard the 76ers as a perfect team waiting to win the championship. Approaching the 2024–25 season, there are still significant unanswered questions regarding their roster, primarily related to their very thin rotation and general age.
With the non-Paul George players not exactly known for their steady three-point shooting, Philadelphia could use more shooting from the wings. Evan Fournier, though, doesn’t make any sense as a potential vet minimum addition to the team, even though he has the look of someone who can help mitigate that.
