Club opens summer transfer window for target striker from Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday has one target scheduled for sale this summer, but they are still searching for a striker.
While Sheffield Wednesday continues its preseason preparations for the 2024–25 Championship, German manager Danny Rohl has persisted in his efforts to add a striker to his team.
Even with the addition of Championship-experienced goalscorer Jamal Lowe—who joined on a free transfer from Bournemouth—there aren’t many choices for strikers right now.
Another alternative for Rohl is the young attacker Bailey Cadamarteri, who had a tremendous season last year after the German manager took over at Hillsborough.
At Sheffield Wednesday, a striker is still needed, and Rohl is interested in players like Ike Ugbo and Sory Kaba.
Although it’s taking a while to sign a striker, Sheffield Wednesday has heard good news about one of its alternatives.
Sory Kaba, a Sheffield Wednesday target, is expected to depart Las Palmas
According to Spanish publication Canarias, Sheffield Wednesday has received good news in their continued pursuit of former Cardiff City forward Kaba, who is expected to depart.
Kaba is rumored to have “confidence” that Las Palmas will let him go to better pastures; the striker may sign a low-cost contract with Sheffield Wednesday.
The striker had a difficult season for Las Palmas in La Liga last year, managing just one goal in 17 league games.
In the Champions League, he demonstrated his skills by starting six matches for FC Midtjylland against teams such Liverpool, Ajax, and Atalanta.
