“This is it,” Spurs announce as they renew contract with a new release clause – Fabrizio Romano
There are still a few players at Tottenham Hotspur who the team is eager to let go of, and one of them is almost certain to depart this summer.
The Bryan Gil trade is almost finished.
Bryan Gil appears to be leaving Spurs temporarily once more, this time returning to Spain, following a miserable three years at the team. Fabrizio Romano claims that Gil’s relocation to Girona is almost finished, and we now have some information regarding the changeover.
“Bryan Gil to Girona, here we go!” tweeted Romano. Spanish winger to join on initial loan from Spurs agreed to deal. Exclusive information: Bryan Gil will have a €15 million release clause added to his Spurs deal. Girona is first in line to sign him; nonetheless, the player may choose to sign with another club.
The release clause is worth £12.68 million, but Girona doesn’t seem to be required to pay it.
Romano posted an additional report earlier today that said, “Girona and Tottenham are in the final stages of negotiations for Bryan Gil.” While the formula’s specifics are being worked out, Spurs are aware that Gil would only stay at the team if Girona was his only goal.
