Five-star guard Jasper Johnson cuts list to five schools
An end is coming to the recruitment of five-star guard Jasper Johnson, a native of Lexington (Ky.).
The 6-foot-4 guard playing for Atlanta (Ga.) Overtime Elite ranks as the No. 12 overall recruit in the 2025 class and is now only considering Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisville and Arkansas and will make his college decision in late August, a source told 247Sports.
Throughout the course of his high school career, Johnson has received more than two dozen offers becoming one of the top prospects in the country due to his blend of size, length and shot-making on the perimeter.
While at Peach Jam, Johnson spoke with 247Sports on four of his finalists (Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky and North Carolina) whereas Louisville has flown under the radar and snuck their way into the final five.
Alabama: “They were the first Power 5 school to offer and recruit me. Nate Oats has been recruiting me for a while, now. Him sticking along throughout the years and building a relationship means that he believes and trust me. Him and Preston Murphy have been reaching out to my parents. Our relationship is good.”
Arkansas: “John Calipari has been recruiting me since he was at Kentucky. I have not been able to see the school. He tells me he wants me to be one-and-done, so that is good to hear.”
