Nick Nurse Reveals His Thoughts On 76ers’ Offseason
The Philadelphia 76ers have had a busy offseason and their acquisition of Paul George is still the most talked-about move of the summer.
But according to head coach Nick Nurse, the team did a lot more than just that.
Speaking to Dan Olinger and the press, Nurse touched upon the team’s productive offseason.
He directly mentioned the addition of big man Andre Drummond, who he thinks could help Joel Embiid and the rest of the team in the new season.
“An example like Drummond, I think everyone understands that we needed a veteran guy that’s a starter … if we need him to play 40 minutes, he can do it,” Nurse said.
According to Nurse, this summer was about so much more than simply signing George.Drummond could indeed be a big help for the Sixers, especially because he nearly averaged a double-double last season with 8.4 points and 9 rebounds for the Chicago Bulls.
The team has made some other adjustments too but there is no doubt that the signing of George was their largest choice this summer.
He has the ability to greatly change the fate of the team and point them in the right direction.
The 76ers need all the help they can get because the Eastern Conference is getting a lot stronger.
The New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and others are improving this offseason and they will all be fighting hard to take on the reigning champion Boston Celtics.
Nurse says the Sixers got a lot more than just George this summer.
