Report: Spurs preparing to make ‘lowball’ offer for £50m transfer target
Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are at the front of the queue with their interest in a striker this summer.
Tottenham are on the search for a new striker
GiveMeSport claim that sources suggest that Tottenham are set to make a ‘lowball’ offer for Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
Tottenham are yet to dip into the transfer market to replace Harry Kane after the club-record goalscorer left North London to join Bayern Munich on the cusp of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Ange Postecoglou had little time to seek a replacement for Kane last summer and instead had to rely on club captain Heung-min Son playing through the middle, along with Richarlison also sharing the responsibility on occasion.
The report claims that Tottenham are planning on adding further new faces to their squad before the window slams shut, but have not yet made a serious approach to Brentford.
The Bees have dropped their valuation of the England international to £50million with a lack of interest in the player, who is now within the final twelve months of his contract.
West Ham and Spurs are frontrunners for Ivan Toney
Toney is said to be more likely to want to join Tottenham over the Hammers due to the fact that Spurs have not actively been negotiating deals for alternative transfer targets since they are confident his price tag could decrease further.
