Arsenal ‘prepare Marc Guehi swap offer’ to pip Man Utd and Liverpool to transfer
Arsenal are trying to leapfrog their rivals to sign Marc Guehi
Arsenal are repoertedly prepared to use Eddie Nketiah as a bargaining chip in their pursuit of Marc Guehi. The Gunners, along with several other Premier League clubs, have been keeping tabs on Guehi following his impressive performance for England at Euro 2024.
Liverpool and Manchester United also reportedly had scouts observing him in Germany.
Mikel Arteta is keen
to strengthen his defence this summer and has identified 24-year-old Guehi as a prime target.
However, Arsenal need to balance their books and are exploring ways to negotiate down Palace’s £70 million valuation.
Nketiah, who is considered surplus to requirements at the Emirates, could be included in a cash-plus player deal, according to the Sunday Star.
Palace have shown interest in the 25-year-old and would welcome him at Selhurst Park. Despite having family and friends south of the river, Nketiah’s future remains uncertain.
Palace executives are not rushing to decide on Guehi’s future. The versatile defender was signed from Chelsea in 2021 and the terms of that deal included a significant sell-on clause.
New Liverpool manager Arne Slot is ready to make a move, however. The Reds still need to replace Joel Matip and the Dutch boss wants to initiate transfer discussions with Guehi and Palace immediately.
