Everton agreed deal ‘on Thursday evening’ – Player set to arrive at Toffees
On Thursday, Corriere dello Sport reported Everton are one step away from finding an agreement with Napoli over signing Jesper Lindstrøm.
Later that day, we covered claims from Italy that Everton should be able to secure the 24-year-old’s services this summer. It was also stated Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is accelerating negotiations with the Toffees.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Sean Dyche’s side have reached an agreement with the Naples club to sign the attacking midfielder on a ‘costly loan’ with an option to buy.
He makes no mention of the fee needed to make the player’s stay permanent. Corriere dello Sport reported yesterday that the overall cost of the deal, if Everton use their option, should be around €25m.
The Denmark international had a disappointing debut season with the Serie A side and failed to score a goal or register an assist, clocking in 587 minutes from 29 games.
This has convinced the Italian club to part ways with him, especially considering there’s interest from Everton, Marseille, Lyon and others. Dyche’s side have taken the lead as the journalist claims they found an agreement with Napoli ‘on Thursday evening’.
Everton have to sort out the personal terms with Lindstrøm. This wouldn’t be an issue as Di Marzio says the Dane is ‘getting closer and closer’ to the Merseyside club.
