City centre officers report 29 arrests and 230 incidents in busy week

City centre officers have detailed a busy week with more than 230 occurrences reports and 29 people arrested.

In the NWP Wrexham Town weekly update police say they have made arrests for drink driving, assaults, criminal damage, controlling and cohesive behaviour, public order and drug offences.

This is not including those that have been voluntarily interviewed and those taken straight to court or prison.

Other arrests and incidents detailed by NWP Wrexham Town include:

Anton De Gennaro, 55, of Bryn Hafod, Wrexham: Officers attended a report of a disturbance which resulted in an arrest, charge and remand to court for possession of a bladed article. He is due to appear at Wrexham Magistrates Court on August 13th for sentence.
Floyd Vassell, 35, of High Street, Wrexham: Arrested on suspicion of shoplifting. He was charged and remanded to court from police custody.

Cody Riley, 18, of Crescent Road, Wrexham: After receiving a report of an altercation on Crescent Road in Wrexham on Friday, July 12th, officers arrested Cody Riley, who has since been charged with two counts of wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He was remanded into custody and will appear before Mold Crown Court again on Tuesday, August 16th.

Whilst carrying out intelligence led patrols in areas were there have been burglaries and vehicle thefts, officers have completed stop searches and found people in possession of cannabis.
Police say this has also been a week of evictions. Wrexham Neighbourhood Policing team have worked with tenancy enforcement and the courts to carry out evictions in Meadow Lea, Pentre Gwyn and Hampson Avenue, Wrexham.
