Cleveland Cavaliers: Brian Windhorst Drops Hint On 1 Major Cavs Move After Donovan Mitchell Extension
The Cleveland Cavaliers got the job on the Donovan Mitchell front in the offseason by signing the star shooting guard to a $150.32 million maximum contract extension. With Mitchell signed, the Cavaliers don’t have to worry about parting ways with him anytime soon.
However, there is still one item the Cavaliers have to decide soon, with big man Evan Mobley entering the final season of his current deal. As early as 2023, the Cavs picked up their 2024-25 season option on Mobley worth just $11.23 million. That’s a bargain considering how big of a role he’s playing for Cleveland.
Mobley can be expected to get a much bigger bag in his next contract, and according to Brian Windorst of ESPN, he believes Cleveland is preparing a huge offer for the former USC Trojans star.

Cleveland Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley could be next in line to secure a huge extension
As mentioned by Windhorst, some of the players on the same draft class as Mobley in 2021 just received massive extension deals such as Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors and Franz Wagner of the Orlando Magic. That’s something Mobley’s side can be expected to raise when it comes to the negotiation table if they haven’t yet.
Through three seasons in the NBA, Mobley has averaged 15.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
