Oxford United are set to sign Matt Ingram in a permanent deal from Hull City
Hull City have agreed a deal with Championship newcomers Oxford United for goalkeeper Matt Ingram. Hull Live understands the experienced goalkeeper is close to joining the U’s on a permanent basis.
Ingram fell out of favour last season under Liam Rosenior and didn’t play after the New Year’s Day defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, one of just 10 league appearances last term, with Ryan Allsop the number one at City under the former boss, but before that, played a pivotal role in helping the Tigers win the League One title in the 2020/21 campaign and an instant return to the Championship.

Ingram had been with City out in Turkey at their pre-season training camp in Riva, but it’s understood left the camp on Tuesday to return to England for a medical at the Kassam Stadium over his proposed move to join Des Buckingham’s side.
New boss Tim Walter opted to use Ivor Pandur and Harvey Cartwright in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Kasimpasa, with Ingram remaining on the sidelines while Thimothee Lo-Tutala was injured.
Vice-chairman Tan Kesler confirmed in an interview on Monday night with Hull Live that the club had received interest in Ingram, Sean McLoughlin, Jean Michael Seri, Jason Lokilo and Ryan Longman. City remain in the hunt for new additions, with just over three weeks to go until the start of the 2024/25 season.
