Casas recently showed he’s just as electric with a mic in his hands as a bat. He caught attention for his in-game interview last month on “Sunday Night Baseball” and even stepped in as NESN’s sideline reporter this week and interviewed fellow first baseman Dominic Smith after a win over the Oakland Athletics.

Many thought at the beginning of the season Casas had a chance to make it to the All-Star Game as a member of the American League roster after finishing third in AL Rookie of the Year voting last year. But fracturing rib cartilage against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 20 limited Casas to just 22 games so far this season.
