Red Sox’s Triston Casas To Show Different Talent At MLB All-Star Game
Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas is going big time.
As a media of the member that is.
According to The Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham, Casas will make his way to Texas for MLB All-Star week and provide coverage of the festivities in a variety of ways. He’s expected to co-host Monday’s Home Run Derby on ESPN and MLB’s TikTok channels alongside Kaitlin Maniscalco while also appearing on MLB Network’s media day show earlier that day.
Casas recently showed he’s just as electric with a mic in his hands as a bat. He caught attention for his in-game interview last month on “Sunday Night Baseball” and even stepped in as NESN’s sideline reporter this week and interviewed fellow first baseman Dominic Smith after a win over the Oakland Athletics.
“Just something I want to try and have some fun with,” Casas told Abraham on Saturday prior to Boston’s 5-0 win over the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park. “I’ll interview some players and do other things.”
Many thought at the beginning of the season Casas had a chance to make it to the All-Star Game as a member of the American League roster after finishing third in AL Rookie of the Year voting last year. But fracturing rib cartilage against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 20 limited Casas to just 22 games so far this season.
