Former academy director Steve Weaver reportedly helped out with the first-team coaching but it’s hard to see his replacement, Dean Rastrick, doing the same right now as he has his plate full with academy recruitment and setting out a vision that further down the line will hopefully enhance the first team.

In other news, at this week’s forum, Zoe Webber announced there were no immediate plans for stadium expansion, although, at a previous AGM, she announced that land had been purchased to facilitate an expanded City Stand and that design plans were afoot. It was also stated that the company doing work on Liverpool’s new Anfield Road End were being consulted.
