Hull City youngster part of mega 15-man transfer blitz as club go wild after EFL troubles
The Merseyside-born 23-year-old has 12 months left on his MKM Stadium deal
Hull City have sanctioned the exit of Callum Jones with the midfielder spending the season on loan at League Two side Morecambe.
Jones, who was born on the Wirral but represented Wales at international youth level, is no stranger to the Shrimps having spent a season on loan at the Mazuma Mobile Arena in 2020.
The midfielder then had a loan spell across the Humber at Grimsby Town in the following campaign and spent last term at Forest Green, but couldn’t help the Gloucestershire outfit avoid relegation back to the National League.
Ironically, having signed in 2019, Jones made his debut on the same night Jacob Greaves did, against Leicester City’s Under-21s in a Football League Trophy tie in September 2020, following the Tigers’ relegation to League One, with the pair departing City on the same day in 2024.
He captained the side later in the competition away at Harrogate Town and scored the opening goal in a 2-0 victory, but has played just three times in the Championship for the Tigers and is out of contract next summer.
