Heavy points deduction expected soon as Leicester star transfer eyed
A heavy points deduction is expected soon for Leicester City, if we believe the latest claim on Profit and Sustainability matters. Will the Foxes receive a huge and unfair seeming punishment? I wouldn’t be surprised.
And a quality Fox is said to be the subject of significant transfer attention. Will winger Kasey McAteer join LCFC’s Premier League rivals Newcastle United? Journalist Ben Jacobs has made a suggestion there.
Wilfred Ndidi gives Foxes a boost
Let’s get right to it on this midsummer Friday afternoon. Leicester have finally confirmed that Ndidi is to remain a Fox for up to another three years. This is a promising sign with an undoubtedly tough campaign ahead.
I have previously stated that allowing the Nigeria international to go wouldn’t have been disastrous for City. However, having him in the squad is preferable, especially since his passing slightly improved and his position was successfully altered.
Even if Ndidi isn’t a favoured starter under newly appointed LCFC boss Steve Cooper, the former is greatly experienced and a strong midfielder option on the substitute’s bench. If the 27-year-old had in fact left, replacing him would have been tricky due to his pretty unique style and imposing size.
Newcastle United want Kasey McAteer
According to Ben Jacobs, McAteer is on Newcastle’s wishlist. McAteer wasn’t as influential for Leicester as he’d liked to have been in 2023/24. This was partly because of the prowess of Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu. Not to mention injury setbacks causing disruptions to his season.
