Free agent travels for League One medical as Wrexham transfer finally ruled out
Wrexham have snapped up George Dobson and it looks like one rumoured midfield target is now heading elsewhere this summer.
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson understandably wanted to add quality to his midfield ranks this summer.
Luke Young was allowed to leave the club this summer with the veteran securing a move to Cheltenham Town.
George Dobson has now been snapped up to replace Young, handing Wrexham a proven League One midfielder and a leadership figure in the middle of the pitch.
There are more questions though as Jordan Davies endured a frustrating campaign last season and James Jones hasn’t played since February.
There may be a temptation to bring in another midfielder this summer and we have seen both Marc Leonard and Joe Morrell linked with moves to the STōK Cae Ras.
Wrexham target Jamie Lindsay heading for Bristol Rovers
Another name prominently mentioned for a number of months now is Jamie Lindsay.
Reports before the January transfer deadline suggested that Wrexham were looking to strike a late deal to sign Lindsay from Rotherham United.
The fee involved would have been a club-record deal for Wrexham but the deadline passed without Lindsay arriving.
