Bregman’s home run in the seventh inning breaks the tie and propels the Houston Astros to a 4-3 victory over the Miami Marlins
Alex Bregman drove in three runs, including a crucial two-run homer in the seventh inning that lifted the Houston Astros to a 4-3 win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night.
The game was tied 2-2 in the seventh when Chas McCormick reached base due to a throwing error. With two outs, Bregman smashed a pitch from Huascar Brazobán into the left field seats, putting the Astros ahead 4-2.
“Our offense has been hitting well lately and making good contact,” Bregman said. “Even though we didn’t have a lot of runners on base today, we found a way to get the job done.”
The win marked Houston’s seventh consecutive victory at home, bouncing back after losing the final two games of their series in Minnesota last weekend.
Ronel Blanco (9-3) pitched seven strong innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out seven, earning the win.
