Phil Parkinson reveals the one very ‘important’ reason why Wrexham signed George Dobson
Phil Parkinson has now shared his reaction after Wrexham completed the signing of midfielder George Dobson.
Wrexham made their third signing of the transfer window on Saturday as former Charlton Athletic midfielder George Dobson arrived on a three-year deal.
Dobson opted to leave Charlton this summer and had been expected to complete a move to Hungarian side Fehérvár, but he pulled out due to personal circumstances.
The 26-year-old has now returned to League One with Wrexham, following goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo and centre-back Lewis Brunt through the door.
Phil Parkinson’s midfield is arguably the strongest area of the pitch, featuring the likes of George Evans, Andy Cannon, Elliot Lee and James McClean. The addition of Dobson – who captained Charlton 43 times last term – has only added to the quality in the engine room.

To sign the West Ham academy graduate is an impressive piece of business and the Englishman will bring an array of technical and leadership qualities to the Racecourse Ground.
Dobson is also supremely experienced in the third tier, having racked up a mammoth 265 appearances in League One at clubs such as Charlton, Walsall, Sunderland and Wimbledon.
