The Braves haven’t been able to get away from the injury bug this season, but they’ve received good news on a couple of critical pieces in recent days, the latest being Michael Harris II.
A.J. Minter just returned to Atlanta after a stint on the IL, Ian Anderson continues to progress on the farm, and Tyler Matzek took a step in the right direction.
None are more important than Michael Harris right now, though. The 2022 Rookie of the Year began doing baseball activities a few days ago following a hamstring strain he suffered a few weeks ago. Before the Braves outing against the Giants on Tuesday, Harris was seen throwing on the field.
Grant McAuley didn’t have a timetable for his return but did say Michael Harris could start running soon.
Harris has been out since June 15th with a hamstring strain, and the Braves offense desperately needs his presence back in the lineup. Hamstrings are tricky, so I doubt the club pushes Harris, but usually, it carries a 6-8 week recovery time. So, at the earliest, it seems we are still a couple of weeks away from seeing Money Mike roaming centerfield in Truist again.
