Leicester City book medical for Premier League attacker with four transfers now close
Bobby De Cordova-Reid is reportedly heading to the King Power Stadium after the versatile 31-year-old turned down a chance to extend his five-year stay at Fulham
Leicester City are reportedly close to bringing in Bobby De Cordova-Reid as they ramp up their transfer business in the wake of Steve Cooper’s appointment as manager.
The Jamaican international attacker will undergo a medical at City in the next 24 hours, the Telegraph report, after Cooper convinced him to turn down a contract extension at Fulham and move to the King Power Stadium instead. It means City now have four potential signings that could be announced in the coming days.
Abdul Fatawu’s £14m permanent switch from Sporting Lisbon is due to be confirmed, while City have also agreed a £5m deal with Chelsea for teenage midfielder Michael Golding. On Thursday, there were widespread reports in Italy that centre-back Caleb Okoli would be joining from Atalanta for around £13m.
De Cordova-Reid would bring Premier League experience to the squad after his five years at Craven Cottage, three of which were in the top flight. The versatile 31-year-old, who can play out wide, in attacking midfield or up front, scored six goals and set up two more in 33 Premier League appearances last season, albeit he was only in the starting 11 on 17 occasions.
