Jamal Lowe has signed a two-year contract at Sheffield Wednesday with the option to extend for a further year, sources have told Football Insider.
The striker completed his medical at Wednesday’s training ground after agreeing terms to join the club on a free transfer from Bournemouth.
Lowe, 29, spent last season on loan at Swansea City before Bournemouth announced he would leave the Vitality upon the expiry of his contract.
He found the net nine times in 35 Championship appearances last time out, attracting interest from several clubs in the second tier before Wednesday swooped to agree a deal.
Lowe joined Bournemouth for a fee of £1.5million in 2021, making 40 appearances for the club as he helped fire them to promotion that same season.
However, upon their arrival in the Premier League, the Cherries moved to send Lowe out on loan to QPR in January after a lack of opportunities in the top flight.
The following season was spent on loan at Swansea before he was allowed to leave Bournemouth for good after playing just one season for the club.
Wednesday narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship last time out and view Lowe’s experience and goalscoring record in the division as a boost to their survival chances.
