Scott Wright sees Rangers transfer exit route emerge as Sheffield Wednesday make their signing pitch

Rangers winger Scott Wright is a target for Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Mailsport understands the Hillsborough club have already registered their interest in the 26-year-old Ibrox star, who has a year left on his Gers contract. Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is an admirer of Wright and is keen to take him to Yorkshire for a crack at England’s second tier.
The former Aberdeen man signed for Rangers in 2021 and started in the Europa League Final against Eintracht Frankfurt two years ago. But he’s been a peripheral figure under gaffer Philippe Clement, who is planning wholesale changes at Ibrox this summer. The Belgian has already added five new players to the ranks with more on the way, which means Wright could be edged out. With 12 months remaining on his current deal, he’s a player Rangers are willing to listen to offers for this summer. The Owls hope to negotiate a deal for Wright ahead of the new campaign.
Clement spoke on Saturday and mapped out his vision on transfers and beyond, The Belgian said: “We had five players going out of the club at the end of their contracts and we didn’t get any money in. We lost five players but for the moment it was easier to get the young players but there will also be experience coming into the building and we need a good balance in the squad of both.
