Tobias Myers secures his fourth consecutive win as the Milwaukee Brewers defeat the San Diego Padres 6-2

Rookie Tobias Myers continued his strong performance in June by winning his fourth consecutive start, while Blake Perkins drove in two runs with a single during a five-run second inning. This helped the Milwaukee Brewers, leading the NL Central, defeat the San Diego Padres 6-2 on Sunday and prevent a four-game series sweep.

Myers (5-2) pitched five innings, allowing one run and five hits with three strikeouts and no walks. This marked his fourth start in June with one or no earned runs, all resulting in wins for the Brewers. He has now won five consecutive decisions dating back to May 21.

Manager Pat Murphy praised Myers, saying, “Tobias continues to impress. He works hard between starts and has embraced his unexpected opportunity in the majors.

He didn’t know he would be here, but since he arrived, he’s shown a strong determination.”

Myers, a 25-year-old right-hander, has been with six different organizations since being drafted by Baltimore in 2016. He made his MLB debut on April 23 after being called up from Triple-A Nashville and is currently in his fourth stint with the Brewers this season.

“When I’m on the mound, it feels the same each time,” Myers commented. “As I start throwing and see positive results, my confidence grows. Each outing feels normal now. I focus on attacking hitters, trusting my catcher, and delivering quality pitches.”
