A Liverpool player has been named as the dream signing for Wrexham by its executive director. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney may well be taking note.
Liverpool might ultimately need to heed a transfer threat from Wrexham. The Welsh side is shooting up the leagues with the backing of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and the executive director Humphrey Ker has named a Reds player as one of his “dream signings.”
Ker will be familiar to watchers of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary. What might be less well-known is that he’s a long-time Liverpool fan, revealing to Front Row Soccer that he was even in attendance for the 2005 Champions League final.
As such, his use of Liverpool players as examples won’t immediately set alarm bells ringing at Anfield. But rather than picking a completely pie-in-the-sky name like Mohamed Salah or Virgil van Dijk, the Wrexham chief named a marginally more believable transfer ambition.

Surprisingly, speaking to Sport Bible last month, Ker cited Wataru Endo as a dream signing for Reynolds and McElhenney. The Japan captain arrived at Liverpool last summer, and Wrexham’s director has been very impressed with what he has seen.
