Five players who are out of contract in 2025 that Wrexham could sign for a huge bargain
Phil Parkinson could look to players entering the last 12 months of their contracts at Wrexham this summer.
Wrexham completed their first piece of transfer business on Saturday, luring goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo back to the Racecourse Ground on a three-year contract.
It was a deal that took a while to materialise but there will be a sense of relief and excitement that they persuaded the 22-year-old to return.
That is an important first piece of business complete but Phil Parkinson still needs many more reinforcements, including at centre-back, left-back, midfield and striker.
The 56-year-old previously said he’s looking at players entering the final years of their contracts, so with this in mind, here are five talents he should consider signing.
Thierry Small
Charlton Athletic triggered an extension in Thierry Small’s contract to keep him at the Addicks till 2025.
A product of Everton’s academy, the attacking left-back was signed in the January transfer window on a six-month contract.
Dubbed ‘fantastic’ during his loan spell at St Mirren last term, the 19-year-old played 14 times for Charlton in the second half of the season and earned himself a year contract.
That was a show of faith in the teenager but Wrexham could show him even more by putting in a teasing bid and landing an upgrade on Jacob Mendy.
