One of Wolves’ brightest young talents has opened the door to a loan move for the 2024/25 season. Gary O’Neil turned to youth quite a lot last term, with the second half of the season proving a real slog as a result of injuries to key players.
Due to hamstring injuries, Pedro Neto, Hwang Hee-chan, and Matheus Cunha were unable to continue the momentum.
O’Neil had little choice but to place his trust in prospects because some debuts were given away.
One player who made a breakthrough last term was Nathan Fraser. In August, he made his Carabao Cup second round debut against Blackpool, actually, before the injury crisis struck.
After making a few appearances during the season and getting himself on the scoresheet, Fraser has been conversing with the club and reflecting on 2023–24, as well as making some inauspicious remarks about what might be approaching.
By the end of the 2023/24 season, Fraser has made 11 appearances for Wolves.
O’Neil provided him opportunities while his primary trio were out injured, but it was tough for him due to his lack of experience.
He didn’t fare so well in the 3-2 defeat to Coventry City. In the second half of that match, he was substituted by Leon Chiwome, another young player who appeared to be a little more dangerous.
