Auburn has added former Alabama and Colorado transfer Jahquez Robinson to help bolster up the defensive back positions, as the team is a little light there. Robinson is a graduate transfer with two years of remaining eligibility when he joins Auburn. He is an addition for a scholarship.

Robinson, who was rated as the 285th player, the 21st cornerback, and the 49th player from Florida in the 2020 class, signed a contract with Alabama. During the recruiting process, Robinson traveled to South Carolina and Oklahoma from Sandalwood, Florida.

Robinson, who played at Alabama from 2020 to 2022, redshirted in 2021 and did not play in 2020. He participated in seven games over the course of the following two years, recording two tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack versus Vanderbilt. During the 2023 season, Robinson played for Colorado, making seven appearances and starting two. During the Buffaloes, he recorded nine tackles and one interception. Robinson’s measurements were 205 pounds and 6-foot-2.

Robinson played 123 defensive snaps and had a 61.7 grade, according PFF. In 2023, Robinson had to cope with a hamstring issue that restricted his playing time.

In this cycle of merging the winter and spring portal openings, Robinson is addition No. 15 in the Auburn transfer portal. Prior to spring practice, Auburn welcomed former Alabama cornerback Antonio Kite and Texas safety Jerrin Thompson to the secondary.
